The world-renown Austrian-American bodybuilder cum actor was born on July 30, 1947, near Graz, Austria.

At 15 years old, Arnold picked up his first set of weights and pursued weightlifting as a career. It paid off five years later when he won Mr. Universe at 20 years and then went on to win Mr. Olympia seven times.

In 2003, Schwarzenegger became the 38th Governor of the State of California in a historic recall election. He served for two terms and left office in 2011.

Arnold Schwarzenegger married Maria Shriver, the niece of former US President John F Kenndey in 1986. Arnold met his journalist wife Maria in 1977 at a charity tennis tournament being held at her mother’s home.

After their wedding, they went ahead to have four children namely Katherine Eunice Schwarzenegger (born December 13, 1989), Christina Maria Aurelia Schwarzenegger (born July 23, 1991), Patrick Arnold Shriver Schwarzenegger (born September 18, 1993), and Christopher Sargent Shriver Schwarzenegger (born September 27, 1997).

In 2015, he told Howard Stern: “I had personal setbacks, but this was, without any doubt, the biggest setback and the biggest failure. Without any doubt. Not only failure, but you feel like, ‘I’m to blame for it.

It was me that screwed up.’ And you can’t point the finger at anyone else. So yeah, I was disappointed in it. It’s always easy to be smart in hindsight. The thing was how do you make the best of that situation?”

Katherine’s Marriage to Chris Pratt

Arnold’s eldest child Katherine Eunice Schwarzenegger started dating actor Chris Pratt in June 2018 and they announced their engagement on January 13, 2019. “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you.

Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go! 💍🙏♥️” he wrote, on a post of them together which showed off her new engagement ring.

On June 8, 2019, Pratt and Schwarzenegger got married in Montecito, California.

There were rumors that Arnold was against the marriage and did not like having a bigger actor in his family. He rubbished those rumors during an interview.

In October, Schwarzenegger stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to gush some more about the Marvel star. “I’m really happy that [Pratt] is such a great guy,” he told Kimmel. “Not only a very talented guy… but a kind man, kind to my daughter, which is the most important thing for me.”

He also joked about feeling intimidated by Pratt’s star power, saying that he was “blown away” when he heard about Katherine’s new relationship. “I was saying, ‘Do you have to have a guy that is taller than me? That is bigger than me, that makes bigger movies than me?”  Rather than having a toxic “testosterone fest” when they get together, it seems Schwarzenegger enjoys having a fellow action star for a son-in-law.
