Breaking Bad Is Getting Its Own Movie
When a TV show is well-received, it’s only natural that it would give rise to books and spin-offs. One example is Firefly, which helped spawn Serenity, the movie that continued the story from the end of the show. Breaking Bad, one of the most popular TV shows of the last decade is getting its own movie.
Vince Gilligan, the original creator of the show, will be at the helm of the film project. And he assures that the movie will tie into the show’s universe.
At this point in time, we know little else aside from the fact that the movie will be two hours long. And that Gilligan himself will be writing the script for the film. But he may also executive produce and direct it himself.
This past July, the series creator signed a contract with Sony TV, possibly making the film just one of many projects planned as a result of the contract signage.
Fans of the series will be happy to hear that the Breaking Bad movie begin filming in New Mexico City, the same place where the show was filmed.
At this moment it is only speculation, but a local newspaper in New Mexico claimed to have gained access to the synopsis and stated “the movie will track an escaped convict trying to regain his freedom”.
It still isn’t known if the movie will take place before or after the original TV series. If Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul’s characters were to show up again is if the movie would need to be a prequel.
Breaking Bad was the story of a high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with lung cancer named Walter White. With the help of a former student named Jesse Pinkman, they begin manufacturing and distributing meth as a means to provide for White’s family.
