Elon Musk Wants To Move To Mars And Is Really Serious About It
With Earth at the brink of being too crowded and polluted to live on, finding a new residence among the stars is becoming more of a necessity. Several projects have been launched in order to make Mars a habitable place for humans. SpaceX owner and former Tesla CEO Elon Musk is ready for says he’s prepared for the trip.
Going to Mars is coming closer to being a reality with each leap in space travel technology. Elon Musk, of course, is jumping on the bandwagon of people who have offered to venture to the Red Planet first. The man has stated “I know exactly what to do,” he said. “I’m talking about moving there.”
Death is a high certainty on the journey to the, but Elon Musk has absolutely no problem with that. He is willing to travel to Mars at the risk of his life and “work non-stop to establish a habitable environment for future travelers.”
This ‘Mars Base’ established by Musk would be “just a base to create propellant, a power station, blast domes in which to grow crops, all the sort of fundamentals without which you could not survive.”
The PayPal founder also believes that “there will be an explosion of entrepreneurial opportunity because Mars will need everything from iron foundries to pizza joints.”
This “mission to Mars” is not just a research endeavor but a way to save humanity from the “risk of extinction.”
Elon Musk does not believe that nuclear weapons will spell the end of humanity, but something else entirely. “Mark my words: AI is far more dangerous than nukes… I’m very close to the cutting edge of AI and it scares the hell out of me.”
Musk hopes to send a SpaceX rocket to Mars by 2019 with the means to establish a basic colony that can pave the way for future residents of the Red Planet.
