Golden Globe Nominations 2020 In Case You Missed It

The Golden Globe award nominations were announced a few weeks ago and unofficially kick-started the award season.

While some nominations came as a surprise, many were predictable.

The awarding of the Golden Globes for exemplary work in television and film began in the year 1944 and they are bestowed by the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Susan Kelechi Watson, Tim Allen, and Dakota Fanning announced the nominees on December 9, 2019. Netflix was at the top of the nominations with 17 nominations followed closely by HBO.

Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story received the most nominations, with six nominations including best screenplay, best drama, best original score (for Randy Newman), best-supporting actress (Laura Dern), best actor (Adam Driver), and best actress (Scarlett Johansson). The Irishman wasn’t far behind bagging five nominations.

Nothing is without fault and the nominations list was marred by criticism over the lack of female nominations in the category of Best Director and screenplay despite what was perceived as award-worthy work.

The presentation of the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 5th, 2020. Without further ado, check out the full nominations list below:
