If you ever had Legos as a kid, you know how much fun it was to build things like robots, helicopters, and even entire cities. As a kid, we played with these building blocks so much, we lost track of the pieces. As an adult, you might want something more adult-oriented when it comes to Lego sets.

While most of Lego’s marketing campaigns are aimed at convincing children to play with the product, the company is planning to roll out something for their now adult consumers.

Dubbed ‘Lego Forma’, this series of Lego sets is intended to help adults de-stress through play.

“This new series is more of a ‘creative project’ than their child set counterparts,” says Kari Vinther, a Senior Marketing Manager at Lego. Funding for the project was gathered using the crowdfunding site IndieGoGo.

The first set to release is a model of a Koi fish that comes with 294 pieces. It comes with a cool gear system to give the illusion of the fish swimming, and comes with a variety of skins: Shark, Splash, Koi, and DIY skin called Ink Koi.

“The young adults we speak to tell us they still feel the urge to be creative and enjoy the physical experience of making stuff – but life seems to get in the way,” stated Vinther. Both IndieGoGo and Lego hope this can get adults to take more time away from screens and spend more time evoking their creative side.

With the limited run series already sold out on IndieGoGo, Lego released the following statement to put other fans at ease:
“A series of pilots are being planned to run in various locations and formats over the coming year to float new ideas, crowdsource others, and receive real-time feedback from consumers to evaluate whether concepts should be developed and scaled.”
