The Heist Continues: Money Heist Season 4 Is Scheduled For 2020

It is official, we haven’t seen the last of the thieves in La Casa Del Papel aka Money Heist. The Netflix original film which has had three super successful series is going to drop the fourth season in January.

The third season left viewers in so much suspense it would be unfair not to release the fourth season.

The third season which was released in June 2019 had the best first-week global result ever for a Netflix non-English series, according to Variety.

In the season, so many new twists and turns unfolded. A quick recap was that Nairobi’s emotions were played with leading to her getting shot in the chest.

This is after Alicia tricked her that she had to go to the window to see her son whom she had given up. Another shocking twist was when the Professor heard gunshots aimed at his love Lisbon that convinced him that the police had killed her.

Viewers later found out it was a trick and the Professor fell for it and vowed revenge.

Recap Of Season 3

The series that started with a cam and calculating Professor who predicted everything beforehand and had enough backup plans have taken an unexpected turn.

What will the professor do now that he broke his biggest rule? If you remember the first season, which aired in 2017, the Professor’s biggest rule was never to form any romantic relationships within the gang.

Rio and Tokio were the first ones to break the rule as they fell madly in love. By the end of season three, however, they had broken up, for good this time.

Then the unexpected happened when the Professor himself fell in love with the cop he was trying to dupe all along, Lisbon.

While season three started well with their coordination intact, it ended with him losing her.

What To Expect In Season 4

So as expected, season four will revolve around his revenge plan and probably along the way he will know she’s alive and attempt to rescue her. Viewers cant wait to see how far he is willing to go for love.

But one can’t help but wonder if there exists the mother of all plot twists where Lisbon actually planned to fake her death and get back at the Professor. This is because she knows all his secrets and tactics now. Would it be too far fetched to imagine? We just have to wait and see.

The thieves inside the bank were also left in a tricky situation after Nairobi was shot.

They also shot a rocket-propelled grenade at a police tanker which had cops inside, which goes against the Professor’s code.

Fans of the show can look forward to an early release date in 2020 as one of the cast revealed that the filming was already concluded in August.

During an interview with Argentina’s Cadena 3, actor de la Serna, revealed season 4 is going be here soon.

“The fourth is already filmed and has a premiere date for January—we’re very happy,” he said in Spanish.

Will There Be A Season 5?

From Instagram posts by some of the cast, however, their cryptic words have hinted that the famous cast will not be airing the fifth season.

Esther Acebo who plays Monica captioned one of her Instagram photos from the set, “And after the chaos…silence. It’s official. I’ve finished filming @lacasadepapel #lcdp…Thank you to the entire family for this incredible trip.”

There is however just as much chatter about there being a fifth season still. Only time will tell. The show’s seasons can be streamed on Netflix.
