Stana Katić – Here Is What You Should Know About This Famous Lady
Canadian-American actress and producer Stan Katic is famously known for her role in Castle. She played Kate Beckett on the ABC television romantic crime series Castle which ran for eight years and Agent Emily Byrne in the thriller series Absentia.
Katic was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on 26 April 1978 to Peter and Rada Katic. Her father is from Vrlika, Croatia, and her mother is from the surrounding area of Sinj, Croatia. She has a total of five siblings, four brothers, and a sister.
She is multi-lingual and speaks five different languages namely English, Serbo-Croatian, French, Italian, and Slovenian fluently.
When asked about her origins, she is reported saying, “My parents are Serbs from Croatia. I call us Dalmatian because that’s the part of the planet that we are originally from. I have Serb, Croat and even a handful of Montenegrin family members.”
Stana attended West Aurora High School where she graduated in 1996.
She studied International Relations, Economics, and pre-law at the University of Toronto’s Trinity College.
After which she pursued an MFA at The Theatre School at DePaul University. She also studied at the Beverly Hills Playhouse acting school.
Stana began working professionally in the late 90s, appearing in film projects, such as “Acid Freaks”, “Shut-Eye” and “Pit Fighters”.

She landed her big break in 2009 when she was cast as Kate Beckett on the hit series ‘Castle’. That was the role that made her a household name.
After eight successful seasons, Castle was cancelled on 12 May 2016. Speaking to Digital Spy, Katic reflected on her time with the drama, in which she played NYPD homicide detective Kate Beckett and was also a producer.
“I feel I’m responsible, in some ways, for curating that show,” she said. “I don’t know how to explain it. I worked very hard on that show, and I dedicated a good chunk of time to that show.”
For her role in Castle, Katic won a number of awards including People Choice Awards, PRISM Awards, and TV Guide Magazine’s Fan Favourite Awards.
In May 2011, the actress landed the Most Glamorous Actress online ballot for the Monte-Carlo TV Festival. She received 17.3% of the 3,641 votes against a field of 15 finalists.
On 28 January 2012, she was a presenter at the 64th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards ceremony.
BuddyTV named Stana Katic as No. 1 on its list of “TV’s 100 Sexiest Women of 2011”. Katic was cast as Emily Byrne in the AXN series Absentia that premiered in 2017 and is now on its third season.
Stana Katic is the founder of a non-profit organization called Alternative Travel Project which helps in reducing the environmental impact of using personal vehicles.
She formed it in 2010. A day before her 37th birthday, Katic married her longtime boyfriend, Kris Brkljac, a Serbian business efficiency consultant, in a private ceremony in Croatia on 25 April 2015.
